The Ultimate organization announced, last Wednesday night (13), a fight between two of the main athletes in the featherweight category for UFC 162, on July 6, in Las Vegas: Ricardo Lamas and “Korean zombie”, Chang-Sung Jung. The two fighters are in second and fourth place in the division, respectively, according to the Ultimate rankings.
Ricardo Lamas has won four consecutive victories, while Chang-Sung has won his last three fights. Both are undefeated since leaving the WEC for the UFC in 2011. Based on the ranking – and also the history – of the athletes, it is expected that the next challenger for the featherweight division belt could emerge from this confrontation.
UFC 162 is scheduled for July 6th, at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The main fight of the night will pit the middleweight champion, the Brazilian Anderson Silva, and the North American Chris Weidman, still undefeated in his career. The fight is valid for the middleweight category title, held by Spider since 2006.
