“100% (about knowing how to beat the ‘giant’). That was his (Ngannou) night. I'm not going to take away the merits. He had no luck, he just hit me with a punch that I didn't see. Congratulations to him, he won the belt, but I'm going back to get what's mine. I know what I did wrong. I will come back stronger, better and more prepared”, guaranteed Stipe.
When they met, in March, Miocic and Francis would have a rematch of a confrontation initially held in 2018. On that occasion, the then champion easily passed the French-Cameroonian, dominating and winning by unanimous decision from the judges.
Almost three years later, what was seen was a completely different story. More confident and experienced, Ngannou acted intelligently and prevented Miocic from putting his strategy into practice. After a punishment in the first round, Francis settled the bill in the second round with one of the most brutal knockouts of the season.
In order to face the new champion again, Miocic may have to wait a while. Today, Ultimate negotiates the clash between Ngannou and Derrick Lewis, who is enjoying a great moment in the organization. There is still no prediction of when the clash will take place.
