Garbrandt's executioner, Rob Font 'forgets' belt and puts Brazilians in his sights for the sequel

After a show against a former champion, the North American says he would like to face the winner of José Aldo x Pedro Munhoz

After the impressive victory over cody garbrandt, Rob font he assured that he did not see himself competing for the bantamweight belt (up to 61,2kg) in the future. Adopting a patient stance, the American has other names in mind for the continuation of his career. In an interview with ‘MMA fighting’, the athlete suggested that he would like to face the winner of the confrontation between José Aldo e Peter Munhoz, which exchange forces in the UFC 265.

“I don’t want to ‘go backwards’. I imagine the fight between José Aldo and Pedro Punhoz will be good. If Munhoz wins, I can avenge a defeat (in 2017). If José Aldo winning, it’s a great name to face,” said Font.

Looking to win his second UFC belt, José Aldo, today, is fourth in the ranking led by aljamain sterling. A featherweight legend (up to 65,7kg), the Brazilian began his career in the category in 2019 and competed for the group title up to 61,2kg. in 2020, when he was beaten by Petr yan.

A reference in bantamweight for years, Munhoz is eighth in the group. After overcoming two consecutive defeats, the Brazilian recovered and has a positive result against Jimmie rivera, in a confrontation held in February this season.
