After making public the end of the partnership with businessmen Malki and Abe Kawa, from 'First Round Management', Jon Jones It already has a new name to represent it in the coming years. On his social networks, the former UFC champion confirmed the agreement with Richard Schaefer, a figure known for major promotions in the boxing world. Now, the agent will take care of negotiations involving 'Bones' and his future projects.

Some like (Floyd) Mayweather, (Oscar) De La Hoya, Canelo (Alvarez), (Bernard) Hopkins, (Marco Antonio) Barrera and (Juan Manuel) Márquez had exciting events that Richard promoted and produced. In the publication, Jon showed high confidence that the new acquisition will be important for continuing his successful career in MMA. Schaefer, from now on, will participate in the 'Bones' with the UFC.

Linked to boxing for much of his career, Schaefer arrives to help Jones at a troubled time for the athlete, regarding the fighter's relationship with the UFC. Without fighting since February 2020, the American is in a 'war' with Dana White and his team. One of the biggest obstacles between the parties is the requirement of 'Bones' for higher amounts received for presentations.
Since August last season, Jon has been preparing for his long-awaited debut in the organization's heavyweight division (up to 120,2kg). Initially, Ultimate had verbally agreed on a superfight between the former light heavyweight champion and the winner of the confrontation between Stipe Miocic and Ngannou. After the Franco-Cameroonian's victory, negotiations cooled down and, for now, the legend continues without a date or opponents for his debut.
