The show promoted by Rob font before cody garbrandt No. UFC Las Vegas 27 may not confirm the athlete as a challenger for the bantamweight belt (up to 61,2kg), but it puts the North American on the radar for the title. Thinking about a possible confrontation with the current champion, aljamain sterling, or with the former owner of the crown, Petr yan, the fighter admitted that he sees greater difficulties facing the category leader. “I think Aljamain is a more difficult puzzle to solve. Petr yan is similar to Cody (Garbrandt). You get it, stay at range, long jab and then go for something big. Aljamain is more complicated because of his wrestling and size,” said Font.

Last Saturday (22), Rob, in addition to beating one of the big names in the category's recent history, secured third place in the ranking. With the victory, the North American remains one of the favorites to face the division leader.

The athlete, however, must wait his turn. The UFC is negotiating an immediate rematch between Sterling and Yan, since, in the first meeting between the two, the fight had an unfortunate outcome, when the then Russian champion ended up disqualified for an illegal knee, leaving his opponent unable to continue in the fight.

PUBLICITY:

There is still no prediction on when Aljamain will make his first belt defense. Recently, the fighter admitted that he would need to undergo neck surgery and would only return to action in the second half of this season.
