“He (Charles) showed that he can withstand tough punishment in the octagon. From the Bronx suffered a knockdown, got hurt and continued. He uses his wingspan well and managed to prevent me from throwing any more blows. Charles overcame a lot today and showed that he is much tougher than we thought he was. Congratulations to him who is now lightweight champion”, declared the North American.

For Chandler, the fight also had its positive points even with the defeat. 'Iron' was satisfied with his ground game and praised the quality of Charles' jiu-jitsu.

“It was great to show that I can face the best fighter in the world on the ground and do well. I ended up letting him take my back and I like that because I can always turn around and get into guard. I didn't feel threatened and that's stupid because you're always in danger if charles do brox take your back. But I felt comfortable there”, concluded Mike.
