the conquest of Charles of the Bronx No. UFC 262 increased the number of Brazilian champions in MMA. One of the biggest names in recent lightweight history (up to 70,3kg), the double Bellator champion, Patrick Pitbull took the opportunity to congratulate his compatriot after the historic triumph over Michael chandler. The native of Rio Grande do Norte used social media to express himself after the victory of the São Paulo native.

“Success to Charles of the Bronx tonight. A humble and hard-working guy, who worked hard to evolve as a fighter and get there. Sport in Brazil will benefit from another champion”, wrote Pitbull, in his account on Twitter.
Watching this weekend's show had a special flavor for Pitbull. The Brazilian was responsible for dethroning Chandler in Bellator, in 2019, when the North American dominated the division and remained the company's main name.
Out of the competition since 2020, Michael arrived with 'golden weight' in the organization chaired by Dana White. After a dominant debut in January, the North American managed, with just one commitment in the company, to qualify for a title fight.
With his victory this Saturday, Do Bronx became the second Brazilian in UFC history to hold the belt. The São Paulo native was part of the list that only had Rafael dos Anjos, leader of the group between 2015 and 2016.
