Shogun returns to the Octagon in rematch against Minotouro

Away from the octagon since being defeated by the Swede Alexander Gustafson, in December last year, Mauritius Shogun he already has a new opponent defined. And it's an old acquaintance: Rogério Minotouro. According to the portal LanceNet!, there is already an agreement for the fighters to face each other, but the date and location should only be announced when the official announcement is made.

Shogun and Minotouro already faced each other in 2005, in a fight valid for the quarterfinals of the PRIDE middleweight GP, in one of the most acclaimed fights in the history of MMA. The fight, won by Mauritius Shogun in the unanimous decision of the judges, he was chosen as the best of that year.

The moment for athletes today is very different. Minotouro is fifth in the ranking of light heavyweight fighters in Ultimate and comes from two consecutive victories, the last one over the former light heavyweight champion, Rashad evans. Shogun, who is ranked sixth in the category, has three wins and three losses, alternating, in his last six fights. The Curitiba native even changed his career management and started training in the United States due to recent results.
