Wanderlei Silva's victory resonates among fighters on social media

Athletes use Twitter to celebrate and comment on the Brazilian's triumph over Brian Stann

The victory of Wanderlei Silva about Brian Stann, in the main fight of UFC Japan, last Saturday night (02), was greatly celebrated and commented on by Brazilian fans, many of them illustrious. Several MMA athletes used social media, more precisely the Twitter, to congratulate Wand and celebrate the victory of the former PRIDE middleweight champion.

“What a beautiful fight Wanderlei, you honored the Japanese fans with a show. Congratulations. He fought a lot, great return to Japan”, he published Rogério Minotouro. The UFC featherweight champion, José Aldo, was less measured in his celebration. "P****! Uhhhh uuuhhhhh Wandeco!!!”, he celebrated.

The former partner of “Crazy Dog” at Chute Boxe, Mauritius Shogun, extended greetings to the entire Wand corner. "Congratulations Wanderlei Silva, Rafael Cordeiro, André Dida and Daniel Abdul”, he published along with a photograph of himself next to the television on which he watched the fight. The heavies Junior Gypsy e Fabricio Werdum also published their congratulations through their official profiles on Twitter.

But it wasn't just Brazilians who demonstrated. Former Ultimate middleweight challenger and TUF 4 finalist, Patrick Côté, couldn't hide his joy at Wanderlei's result. “The legend is still alive!!!”, posted the Canadian.

And even UFC president, Dana White, was full of praise for Wanderlei and the exciting fight against Stann. “What a war between Wanderlei and Stann!! I can’t wait for the second round!!!”, commented the manager after the first round. "Wow!! Wanderlei performed very well tonight!” said White after the Brazilian's knockout.
