Fighter Daniel Straus, winner of Bellator's sixth season lightweight tournament, was arrested this Friday (01) for drug trafficking and possession. According to information published by the portal MMA Junkie, Straus was caught driving with his license suspended, carrying more than 20 g of marijuana, ecstasy and suspicious materials – used for drug consumption.
The fighter's arrest took place in the city of Fort Lauderdale, in the state of Florida (USA). However, Straus is being held in prison. North Broward Bureau, in Pompano Beach. His bail was set at $2.200.
Daniel Straus has a record of 25 fights, with 21 wins and just four losses. He was scheduled to face featherweight champion Pat Curran at Bellator 95 in April, but the fight was canceled due to an injury suffered by Straus, who was replaced by Shahbulat Shamhalaev in the fight.
