Former challenger for the light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg.), Alexander Gustafson revealed plans to return to the octagon in the middle of the year. On his social networks, the Swede says he will return to Ultimate even stronger. He hasn't fought since July 2020, when he was submitted by Fabricio Werdum.

The Swede's phase, however, is not good. Currently, he has three consecutive defeats – against Jon Jones, Anthony Smith e Fabricio Werdum. The last one, in fact, occurred in his debut at heavyweight (up to 120,2kg.). It is not yet known whether the fighter will continue in the category or be back at light heavyweight (up to 93kg).

During his time in Ultimate, the Swede competed twice for the organization's belt, both times against Jon Jones. Even though he was defeated in his opportunities, he is considered one of those who came closest to dethroning 'Bones' in his career trajectory.
