Soon after confirming advanced negotiations for the rematch'Francis Ngannou x Derrick Lewis' for the heavyweight title (120,2kg.), Dana White opened up the possibility of promoting another great duel in the division. The president of Ultimate did not shy away and revealed that he is interested in a confrontation between Stipe Miocic e Jon Jones, with the winner being next in line for a title shot.

"Good, Stipe Miocic is GOAT (best of all time) heavyweights. He worked and did things that you need to do to be the greatest. It's a fact. And I don't know, let's see what comes next. I like that he's excited and wants to fight again. But listen, we could do Jon Jones e Stipe Miocic too,” White said in an interview with 'ESPN' North-American.
Considered one of the greatest heavyweights in the history of the sport, Stipe Miocic lost the belt after being knocked out by Francis Ngannou, UFC 260. Since then, he has not given any indication about his future.
Considered by many to be the best MMA representative of all time, Jones has not performed since February 2020. On that occasion, the American surpassed Dominick reyes in what marked his last title defense in the old category; months later, the athlete abandoned the title and began the process of gaining muscle mass to move to heavyweight.
The fight between 'Jones x Miocic' was negotiated at UFC 218. At the time, both fighters were champions of the light heavyweight (up to 93kg) and heavyweight (120,2kg) divisions, respectively. However, the fight did not materialize. Four years later, she can finally leave the role after the imbroglio for a possible superfight of the 'Bones' against Ngannou. In fact, Dana has already planned a rematch between the French-Cameroonian against Derrick Lewis for next summer.
