With the future of Jon Jones still undefined, Ultimate plans the sequence for the heavyweight division (up to 120,2kg.). After knocking out Stipe Miocic, the champion Francis Ngannou revealed that he can defend the title frequently and the idea was approved by Dana White. The president of the organization is already negotiating a rematch between the Franco-Cameroonian and Derrick Lewis.

“We are working (to close) this fight. Planning for it to happen this summer”, declared Dana in an interview with the channel 'TSN'.
The controversy over the next heavyweight title challenger has been unfolding since UFC 260. Previously, Dana White had confirmed that Jon Jones would occupy the post, but changed his speech after the victory of Francis Ngannou about Stipe Miocic.
The president and the former light heavyweight champion (up to 93 kg) began to exchange barbs in the press, especially after Dana accused Jones of asking for a high purse because he was 'scared' of facing the French-Cameroonian.
Considered two great highlights in the recent history of heavyweights in Ultimate, Francis and Derrick are old acquaintances. The 'giants' exchanged forces in 2018, in one of the most criticized fights of that season. Known for their knockout power, the heavyweights produced little and the match ended up being decided by the judges' decision, who unanimously declared Lewis the winner.
