Upon becoming aware of the declaration of Anthony Johnson that he would be disappointed with his own performance in the Bellator 258, Scott Coker stated that he does not agree with his employee. The organization's president cited 'Rumble's' inactivity and the quality of José Augusto 'Gugu' to defend his performance last Friday night (7).

“This guy hasn’t fought in four years. I was telling someone: At a tournament in 2011, there was a kid named Daniel Cormier who was a substitute who came out of nowhere and started beating everyone. José was that guy. He is very dangerous. Augusto was on a four-win streak,” said Coker.

The Bellator president also stated that the last-minute change of opponent may have hindered Anthony's preparation for the event.

“I think it's unfair to judge him based on this fight, because he was training to face Romero, then you throw him into a completely different opponent... he was surprised. At the end of the day he did what he had to do, overcame the obstacle and won tremendously. I think he was one of the biggest knockouts I've seen here at Bellator. I don’t think he should be disappointed”, declared the president.
