Marina Rodriguez says victory at UFC Vegas 26 could bring her closer to a title shot

“After I win this fight (against Waterson), I believe I will be very close to a title shot. I might have to beat someone in the top 3 first. It depends on who the next challenger will be. This will define a lot about my future. None of them are prepared to face Rose (Namajunas), but I know that I am”, said the combatant.

Having a great moment in Ultimate, Rodriguez is coming off a significant victory in his career. In January, at UFC 257, the gaúcha surpassed the promising Amanda ribas, taking away the compatriot's unbeaten record in the organization.

With the triumph, Marina reached her third victory in the organization. The fighter also has two draws and only one loss with the company's gloves.

Today, Rodriguez occupies sixth position in the ranking led by Rose namajunas. Michelle is in ninth place and is looking to take the Brazilian's place.
