The first women's fight in UFC history was truly “remarkable”. For Liz Carmouche, challenger for the bantamweight category belt, the expression had a literal meaning. After last Saturday's fight (23), Ultimate's director of media relations, Ant Evans, published on his account Twitter, an image in which Carmouche's arm appears with the mark of his teeth Ronda Rousey – acquired when the challenger tried to submit the champion with a rear naked choke, but ended up losing the position.
Under MMA rules, biting is expressly prohibited. However, the Ultimate organization has treated the episode as an accident. Liz Carmouche herself appeared in an image published by the portal MMA fighting, showing the brand to Ronda Rousey, who reacts with apparent surprise. Furthermore, the challenger did not mention, or complain, about what happened at any time.
Ant Evans himself, moments after publishing the image of his scarred arm, made a point of defending Ronda Rousey via Twitter. ” There was no bite. Liz forced her forearm into Ronda's upper teeth. Humans bite by pressing the lower jaw upwards,” she posted.

The UFC's best referee observed no irregularities. And he was attentive, on top of the rear naked choke attempt. At no point did Liz scream in pain, which would have happened if the bite had been real. So, what happened was really accidental, as the UFC director stated. It was a sensational fight, full of suspense and very emotional. Ronda won with great competence, proving to be a great and legitimate champion. I became a fan of hers.
