Daniel Cormier explains 'fight' with Jake Paul and challenges YouTuber to MMA fight

Former Ultimate champion still says he could lower his weight to 93kg. to face the North American

Even though he has already retired, Daniel Cormier made another disaffection in combat sports. The former UFC light heavyweight (up to 93kg) and heavyweight (up to 120,2kg) champion even argued with Jake Paul in the audience of UFC 261 last Saturday (24) while working as a commentator at the event. Now, he revealed details of the discussion and stated that he feels like facing the youtuber in an MMA fight.

“I was working (as a commentator) on the broadcast and I was told that the Jake Paul it was there. I looked back and he was waving and looking at me. I was like, 'What the f*** is going on?' In the middle of the broadcast? Is this 24 year old kid kidding me? (…) Then I said: 'Hey, I'm not going to play your games. Do not mess with me. I'm not a child for you to play like that. Keep my name out of your mouth”, said DC in an interview with 'ESPN'.

In addition to giving details about the discussion, Cormier said that Paul even asked to 'sign a contract' for them to fight. He considers, however, that the fight takes place in MMA and says that he could even drop to light heavyweight (up to 93kg) to face him.

“He asked me to sign a contract. This kid wants to fight? Okay, I'll fight him. But it will be a mixed martial arts competition. If he really wants to fight me, fight me in MMA at 93kg. I'm living like a fat, happy, healthy person. And I'll go up to light heavyweight to fight this kid in MMA. If you really want to fight me, fight. This won't be fun” concluded the American.
