Historical victim of the aggressiveness of Jorge masvidal, Ben Askren adopted a measured stance when dealing with the brutal defeat suffered by his rival in the UFC 261. On his social networks, the American surprised by not provoking his former opponent and was short in the post. Almost two years ago, the 'Funky' suffered the fastest knockout in the history of Ultimate, against 'Jesus das Ruas' himself.

“I don't believe in 'karma'. If you fight for too long, shit happens,” Askren wrote.
When they faced each other, in one of the most anticipated clashes in the UFC 239, the atmosphere of rivalry between the athletes was contagious. The marriage of styles also interested fans, who would see a striking specialist (stand-up fighting) against a wrestling master.
In the fight, however, there was no balance. As soon as the match referee started the fight, Masvidal, in a movement of rare happiness, connected a flying knee to Askren's chin, who fell unconscious.
The knockout entered the organization's history as the fastest ever recorded. Jorge's victory came after just 5 seconds.
Almost two years later, the moment is still remembered. Masvidal, however, could be immortalized as one of the challengers for the belt he categorically lost.
While Jorge will look for a way to get back on his feet in Ultimate, Ben remains retired from MMA. After the erased stint in the UFC, the 'Funky' hung up his gloves. Recently, the athlete decided to return to action for a super boxing fight against youtuber Jake Paul. The adventure, however, cost the former ONE Championship and Bellator champion dearly, who was knocked out in less than two minutes of confrontation.
I don't believe in Karma. If you fight long enough shit happens.
