However, an injury will force him to withdraw from the event, which is scheduled to take place on April 27th. The fighter revealed that a nerve in his neck is trapped and this is causing atrophy in his right arm.

“I need to be more professional about my own body. I haven't had many injuries, but I may need neck surgery. The way doctors described it is as if the nerve was a hose and much of the water didn't pass through it,” said Bisping, in an interview with the British ESPN website.

The fighter revealed that the injury causes loss of sensitivity and that his right arm is losing strength. “You can squeeze my chest, run your nails and I won’t feel anything. My right arm is much weaker than my left. My muscle is atrophying because the nerve signals are not getting through,” he added.

Michael Bisping He also stated that, if doctors opt for surgical treatment, he will be out of competition for at least six months.
