“I don’t expect this (title dispute) to happen right after the duel against Uriah Hall, but I think if I win two fights spectacularly and show my potential, people will want to see me fight for the title”, declared Weidman.

The former leader of the under-83,9 kg group stated that he analyzed the champion's last fight Israel adesanya against Jan Blachowicz and declared that he could play a game similar to that of the Pole if he faced the Nigerian.

“Watching this fight, I realized how a strong guy was able to overcome him (Adesanya) and get the takedowns and that definitely gave me some ideas. I don't expect to fight Israel now. I know I'm a bad matchup for him and when I'm able to prove that to everyone, people will want to see this fight,” concluded the former middleweight champion.
