The significant victory of youtuber Jake Paul about Ben Askren last weekend remains on the rise in the world of martial arts. Executioner of the former Bellator and ONE Championship champion, the digital influencer may now face a former UFC belt owner. Tyron woodley, who was present at the boxing superfight, signaled that he would like to exchange forces against the North American and assured that the outcome would be different.

“Take advantage of the opportunity to be able to say that you are a fighter for one more day. Try that shit with me and I'll carry a body. I wouldn’t get into a pillow fight with them,” Woodley wrote on his Twitter account. Twitter.

Tyron's publication came in response to a provocation made by Paul shortly after the knockout imposed on Ben Askren. At the time, the youtuber he asked 'who would be the next athlete he retired'.

There was a lot of curiosity among some martial arts enthusiasts about how Jake would fare in a challenge against a high-level competitor. Even with Ben retired since 2019, a higher level of competition could be expected.

What we saw, however, was a veteran with little intimacy in the 'noble art'. Out of action for over a year and recently recovered from hip surgery, Askren produced little during the match. It took just over a minute for the YouTuber to surprise the former UFC fighter and score a historic victory.

Unlike Ben, Woodley, who now wants the right to test himself against Paul, is not coming from a long period of inactivity. Even in a difficult phase in MMA, the former welterweight champion (up to 77kg) performed three times in the 12 months.

PUBLICITY:

At 39 years old and with four consecutive setbacks, Tyron may have said goodbye to the UFC after his last negative result, in March, when he was submitted by Vincent Luque. A confrontation against Jake, therefore, could become viable and yield good figures for one of the biggest names in the history of Ultimate welterweights.
