A true massacre. In the boxing superfight between the youtuber Jake Paul and Ben Askren, the former UFC player had no chance. After much provocation in promoting the clash, held this Saturday (17), the former Bellator and ONE Championship champion showed little intimacy in the 'noble art' and ended up brutalized with a knockout in the first round. After the setback, the veteran didn't even wait for the official result to be announced.

Retired from MMA since 2019, Askren saw the superfight with Paul as an opportunity to return to action. In addition to a significant stipend for performing, Ben believed he could silence the youtuber, who was making his second boxing confrontation.

For the fight, Askren took to the ring showing questionable physical shape. Without much technique, the North American was easy prey for the influencer, who was aggressive from beginning to end.

Paul's triumph in the clash frustrated the expectations of a special spectator. A few weeks ago, UFC president Dana White stated that he would bet US$1 million (around R$5,9 million) on the success of his former employee.

The fight

In the opening seconds, Jake showed that he would like to end the fight on the fast track. With his guard down, the YouTuber touched the ex-MMA man with jabs and crosses to the face. Without reaction, Askren walked backwards and was unable to stop his opponent. Just over a minute into the fight, Paul hit Ben with a clean cross to his opponent's face. Affected by the blow, the former UFC athlete fell immediately. The veteran got up, but, shaken, was prevented from returning to the confrontation. Noticing Askren's condition, the referee decided to stop the fight, declaring Paul a knockout victory.
