“After I was pushed by Jeremy in the UFC fights, I immediately felt my hand go numb and my neck stiffen. Sean Shelby and the UFC authorities sent me to treatment, where I spent two hours. I spent the night eating, rehydrating, stretching, and met the doctor later. I woke up early today with a headache, nausea and the only thing that made me feel better was lying in the dark. The UFC gave me medication and I rested for a few hours before getting up and vomiting. At that time, I called the UFC doctor and he made the decision to send me to the hospital. I apologize to everyone who was excited for this fight. I tried everything to keep fighting, but this problem got out of my control”, wrote Klose, in his account on Instagram.

The confrontation between Drakkar and Jeremy was one of the most anticipated of the show. The dispute, which would take place between lightweights (up to 70,3kg), would mark the meeting between two athletes known for their aggression in the Octagon.

Against Stephens, Klose would try to recover from the defeat he suffered to Beneil Dariush, in March 2020. The setback interrupted a streak of three victories for the North American.

Going through a difficult time in Ultimate, Stephens hasn't won in five appearances. The fighter's last triumph took place in February 2018. UFC Las Vegas 24, the combatant would struggle with the obligation to achieve a positive result to eliminate the risk of joining the company's feared layoff list.
