Renan Barao He successfully defended his interim bantamweight belt by submitting American Michael McDonald at UFC on FUEL 7, an event held last Saturday (16), in London. But with the expansion of Ultimate's business in Brazil, the athlete from Rio de Janeiro hopes to return to the octagon fighting at home.

At the press conference after the show, Barão did not hide his desire to have his next fight in the Brazilian Northeast. “It would be great to have the opportunity to fight in the Northeast. I had some great fights at the beginning of my career and it would be a dream come true”, said Renan, who still doesn't know if his next fight will be against Dominick Cruz, current champion of the category, for the unification of titles.

“The goal is to fight Dominick, but if I have to fight another athlete, I am employed by the UFC. I will be ready when they call me,” he added.
