The Brazilian Renan Barao successfully defended the interim UFC bantamweight belt. Early this Saturday night (16), the athlete from Rio Grande do Norte submitted the American Michael McDonald in the main fight of UFC on FUEL 7 and is already aiming to unify the titles against the current champion Dominick Cruz.

Without fighting since October 2011, due to a series of injuries to his knee, Cruz still doesn't know when he should return to the octagon, but he guarantees he has the game to neutralize Renan's style.

“I’m not really worried (about the Renan Barao). I fight each opponent in a different way, I’m not going to stand still in front of him, I’m going to mix things up,” he said, pointing to the takedown game as the main alternative to defeating the Brazilian.

“I can do wrestling (takedowns) against him. I'm not going to stand in front of him and look for striking all the time. I'll mix things up and let you guess. If I simulate things, I can ruin Barão’s entire game,” he added.
