Since the confirmation of the increase in Jon Jones to heavyweights (up to 120,2kg.), a potential superfight against Francis Ngannou has been one of the most talked about topics in the world of MMA. The fight, however, faces difficulties before it becomes official and the legend of the sport, Georges St-Pierre, gave his opinion on the matter.

"Jon Jones are afraid of Francis Ngannou e Francis Ngannou are afraid of Jon Jones. They are both scared. Because if they weren't afraid, that means they don't care,” said St-Pierre in an interview with the podcast 'The Joe Rogan Experience'.
Asked about 'fear' in martial arts, GSP was emphatic in analyzing the feeling. According to him, there is a need to maintain sporting success and thinking about a defeat makes the financial factor end up weighing on the balance.
“Fighting, I’m sure, is important to them. Success is important to them, and when you put everything on the line, it's normal to be afraid. If the price is right, even if he is scared, regardless of how he feels, he will do the job”, concluded the Canadian.
The disagreements began after Francis Ngannou defeat Stipe Miocic No. UFC 260 and, soon afterwards, Jon Jones stating that he would accept the fight only if Ultimate reached a financial agreement. The former light heavyweight champion's stance (up to 93kg) even irritated Dana White, who suggested that he move down a division to avoid facing the Cameroonian. The 'big boss' is even considering promoting a rematch between the new heavyweight belt holder against Derrick Lewis.
