The story began in January 2021, when Poirier and McGregor were promoting their second fight. At the press conference held before the UFC 257, the North American publicly thanked the Irishman, who offered to donate US$500 (around R$2,845 million) to 'The Good Fight Foundation', managed by 'Diamante'.

Months later, as revealed by Dustin, the amount was never received. The North American also claimed that he tried to contact the 'Notório' team, however, there was no response.
