Defeated in the main attraction of Bellator 256 this Friday (17), in the United States, Lyoto Machida will carry for a few days the memory of the battle before Ryan bader. Victim of hard elbows, the Brazilian left the cage with swelling on his face (see below). With the defeat, he lost the chance to advance to the semifinals in the franchise's light heavyweight (up to 93kg) Grand Prix.

The fight marked a rematch between the combatants. In the first confrontation, Lyoto was superior and knocked out Bader in the second round. Almost nine years later, the North American managed to reverse the result and became the winner in the unanimous decision of the judges.
The fight began with a lot of study and a clear advantage of Lyoto Machida, which got to be annoying Ryan bader with kicks from the waist line. Focused, the North American managed to take down the Brazilian from the second round onwards and landed good strikes at the base and half guard.
At 42, Lyoto Machida accumulated the uncomfortable third defeat in a row in Bellator. In his record, there are 26 triumphs and 11 setbacks. Ryan bader, who is the heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg.), won a place in the semifinals of the tournament and will face the winner of the fight between Corey anderson and Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov, which takes place next Friday (16).
