After being provoked, Colby covington decided to answer the Kamaru Usman's comments that he doesn't deserve a title shot at this point. O 'Chaos' called the welterweight champion (up to 77,1kg) a coward and stated that he chose the duel with Masvidal because it was, theoretically, more accessible. The provocation was made through 'Twitter' from the North American.

“(Usman) spoke like a real coward, because he doesn’t want to face the number one in the category. Just tell the truth: you know you can't win and you'd rather fight Jorge masvidal, because it’s ‘easy money,” Covington wrote.
The two fighters have already met in the octagon, in December 2019, at UFC 245, Covington and Masvidal faced each other for the welterweight belt (under 77,1kg). On that occasion, the Nigerian won after knocking out the North American in the fifth round.
With a record of 16 wins and two losses, Colby covington is the current number one in the division rankings. Former interim champion, the 'loudmouth' is looking for another opportunity to compete for the category belt. In his last fight, the 'Chaos' defeated Tyron woodley, in September 2020.
Current welterweight leader, Kamaru Usman has a record of 18 wins and one loss. Still undefeated in Ultimate, the Nigerian has held the belt since March 2019. His next fight will be in UFC 261, on April 24, in the rematch against Masvidal.
Spoken like a true coward who doesn't want to face the rightful # 1 contender. The rankings have chosen and so have the people Marty. Just say the truth: you know you can't win and you'd rather fight bums like Street Judas for easy pay checks. @ USMAN84kg https://t.co/XtQbs5lnFR
