About to debut in the PFL (Professional Fighters League), Anthony Pettis He wants to show that he is not in the organization to 'hang out'. O 'showtime' stated he was excited about the new phase of his career and said that what he has already achieved in the UFC doesn't matter from now on. In an interview with the website 'mma mania', the North American spoke about the subject.

“I just have to prove something to myself. Everything I've done in my past doesn't matter, we all know that in the fighting world, you're only as good as your last fight. I have a 'target' on my back. When I announced the signing (with the PFL), a lot of fighters told me, 'I'm looking forward to seeing you in the Octagon.' I feel excited about this new journey, it's a new chapter in my career”, said 'showtime'.

With a record of 24 wins and 10 losses, Pettis was a UFC athlete for almost 10 years. After a devastating start, he became champion of the lightweight division by beating Ben henderson, at UFC 164, in August 2013. The combatant was dethroned by Rafael Dos Anjos, in March 2015, at UFC 185.

In December 2020, after the end of his contract with Ultimate, Anthony signed with the PFL and will be part of the 2021 season of the lightweight tournament (under 70,3kg). Its debut is scheduled for April 23rd, on the first Show organization that year. His opponent will be the American Clay Collard.
