After Dustin poirier sign the contract, it was time to Conor McGregor confirm the trilogy against the North American. On his social networks, the Irishman confirmed the new fight against the 'Diamond' for the UFC 264, which takes place on July 10th, with no location yet defined. Exuding confidence, the 'Notório' also made an optimistic prediction about the new commitment.

“The fight is confirmed. On July 10th, you will see who the real McGregor is. Adjust and destroy,” wrote Conor, in his account on Instagram.
After the historic outcome in UFC 257, when Poirier shocked part of the world by delivering the first knockout of McGregor's career, a rematch was imminent. The event, held in January, ended up becoming one of the most watched shows in the history of the sport.
The bet on great engagement is such that Dustin poirier turned down a lightweight title fight (up to 70,3kg) to return to fight against McGregor in the Octagon. The rivalry between the two began more than five years ago, when they were still playing at featherweight (up to 65,7kg).
On July 10, Dustin and Conor will have the chance to break the tie. In 2015, in the first meeting, the 'Notório' easily overcame the North American, with a knockout in the first round. In 2021, Poirier 'paid with interest' for the loss suffered at UFC 178.
In addition to promoting a reunion that could go down in history, the fight between the 'Diamond' and the Irishman could become important for the division. The winner may be confirmed as the first challenger to the winner's belt in the clash between Charles of the Bronx e Michael chandler, who face each other on May 15th.
