Calm, Renan Barão ensures focus for first UFC belt defense

Renan BaraoThe Brazilian Renan Barao puts the interim featherweight belt on the line, next Saturday (16), against the revelation Michael McDonald. But the Brazilian athlete, who has 14 more professional fights than his rival, does not consider his greater experience as an advantage for the duel. In the last press conference before the clash, the native of Rio Grande do Norte guarantees that he will be ready for the duel.

“I don’t think it’s an advantage to have more experience and have starred in more events than him (McDonald). I’m focused and 100% for this fight,” he said. When asked what might happen if he wins and the American Dominick Cruz continues to be injured, he replied that he will follow what the event decides.

“The UFC will decide that. I am an employee and I do whatever the organization asks. I really want to face him, but if the UFC chooses to put someone else in front of me, that’s fine”, he concluded.
