The clash, which was confirmed for the 16th of April, ended up being postponed by almost three weeks and will now be held on the 7th of May, at Bellator 258, in Uncasville (USA). The information was confirmed by the organization's president, Scott Coker, who explained the case.

Former UFC standouts, Romero and Johnson are two of the competitor's big bets for the current season. In addition to promoting a clash that became popular among sports fans even before it took place, the fighters will take part in the light heavyweight Grand Prix (up to 93kg), which will award the winner with US$1 million (about R$5,7, XNUMX million).
MMA veterans, both Anthony and Romero were selected to fight for belts when they were still part of the Ultimate fighter squad. The North American, in fact, has not performed since the defeat he suffered against Daniel Cormier, in 2017, when he tried to take the DC light heavyweight belt.
At 43 years old, the unstoppable Romero still isn't thinking about retiring from the sport. Former challenger for the UFC middleweight title (up to 83,9 kg), the Cuban, however, is not going through his best moment. The veteran has not won a match since February 2018 and has had four negative results in the last five appearances. The athlete has not had a professional fight since the controversial fight against Israel adesanya, for the throne of the under-83,9kg group. The clash went down in history due to the criticism given to the lack of combativeness between the athletes.
The duel between Yoel and Anthony will mark the co-main fight of the Bellator 258. The leading role in the show will be taken over by Juan Archuleta (champion) and Sergio Pettis, who will exchange strength for the bantamweight belt.
