Brazilian promise at welterweight, fighter talks about 'dream fight' against 'bad boy'; Tupiniquim submitted Tyron Woodley this weekend

Considered one of the great Brazilian promises for the welterweight division (up to 77kg.), Vincent Luque challenged Nate diaz after winning Tyron woodley No. UFC 260. Surprising some with the request, as he did not propose a confrontation against a top 5 opponent, the Tupiniquim explained his attempt to face 'bad boy'. The statement was made at the press conference after the show.

“The fight I really wanted, Kamaru Usman he picked up. I wanted to face (Jorge) Masvidal. I think this fight would be incredible. Our styles match very well. So I challenged Nate diaz. I think our ways of fighting fit together perfectly. If he is interested in coming out of retirement, I wouldn't face a top 5 player to face him,” said the Brazilian.

If the request is not fulfilled by thebad boy', Luque still has some tricks up his sleeve. The athlete then named some names with whom he would like to share the Octagon.

“My focus is on the top of the division. Leon edwards, 'Wonderboy'(Stephen Thompson) – two guys who beat me. I would like to do this rematch. I want a high-level opponent,” he concluded.

In addition to beating the former category champion this weekend, Vicente has plenty of reasons to celebrate. Victorious in the battle against the veteran, the Brazilian, together with his opponent, won the 'Fight of the Night' bonus, earning US$50 thousand (around R$288 thousand).
