For those eagerly awaiting the reunion between Conor McGregor e Dustin poirier, the wait may be almost over. According to the 'Adjarasport TV', the Ultimate program will carry out the trilogy between athletes in UFC 264, which takes place on July 10th, with no location yet defined. The idea is to promote the clash as a major attraction of the show.

If made official by the organization, the clash between McGregor and Poirier will mark the definitive settling of scores between the athletes. With a victory for each, the confrontation could define the next challenger for the lightweight belt (up to 70,3kg), who will have a new champion after the meeting between Charles of the Bronx e Michael chandler, on May 15nd.
The first fight between Conor and Dustin took place six years ago, when both were still performing in the featherweight division (up to 65,7kg) in Ultimate. On that occasion, the Irishman got the upper hand, knocking out the North American less than two minutes into the fight.
In 2021, in the lightweight division, the story was different. In a super event promoted by the company, 'Diamante' once again shared the octagon with 'Notório'. This time, the advantage went to Dustin, who shocked the world by delivering the first knockout suffered by the Irishman in his successful career.
With the rivalry at its peak, Ultimate will try to profit from the protagonists of the UFC 264. While Poirier will try to prove that the triumph over Conor was not by chance, the 'Notório' will seek to resume the path of victories at lightweight, which has not happened since November 2016.

At 32, Conor McGregor is considered one of the greatest phenomena in the history of MMA. Former double UFC champion, the fighter is not going through the best moment in his career. Without his old titles (featherweight and lightweight), the Irishman, today, in sixth place in the rankings, is fighting to regain the throne of the category that, until this week, was led by his biggest rival, Khabib Nurmagomedov. The 'Notório' currently has 27 fights as a professional in mixed martial arts, with 22 triumphs and five setbacks.
Former interim lightweight champion, Dustin poirier goes against Conor. A standout in the category for years, the fighter leads the division and comes from two positive results in a row. The American hasn't known what it's like to lose since he was submitted by Khabib, in 2019, in the fight to unify the belt.
