José Aldo leads Brazilian party at UFC 156

Pezão, Minotouro and Demian Maia also win on the main card

Aldo wins Frankie Edgar and defends belt

The Brazilian José Aldo proved why he is considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world. Before Frankie Edgar, former lightweight champion, the man from Manaus showed a masterclass in stand-up fighting and takedown defense to beat his toughest opponent in the UFC.

In the first movements of the fight, Demian attacked Fitch's legs and sought the takedown. With a strong desire to fight, the Brazilian quickly reached the North American's back. The Brazilian athlete tried his best to secure the rear naked choke, but showing a lot of technique, Fitch managed to stay in the contest.

In the second round, history repeated itself. As soon as Jon tried to exchange some blows while standing, the Brazilian closed the distance and took the fight to the ground. Quickly, Demian reached his back and closed a triangle on Fitch's waistline. But again the North American managed to defend himself and not be finished.

After winning two first rounds, Demian started the last round cautiously, waiting for Jon's initiative to respond with a counterattack.
