Rafael Dos Anjos criticizes former agent and claims he avoided his rematch with Khabib

After exchanging provocations with Islam makhachev last week, Rafael Dos Anjos Now it has a new target. “When I won the belt, I asked Ali, who was my manager at the time, about a rematch against Khabib, but he always protected his friend and kept him away from me. I have no problem fighting with Islam makhachev, but if his team believes in him so much, I need Nurmagomedov's word that he will fight me later”, declared the Brazilian.

Challenged by Makhachev after the UFC 259, RDA does not hide that the only condition to exchange forces with the new ATT promise (American kickboxing Academy) is a new chance to face Khabib. To do this, the current lightweight champion should rethink his retirement and return to competing.

Coming from five consecutive victories, Rafael was defeated by Nurmagomedov in April 2014. After that, he had three victories in a row and became lightweight champion by beating Anthonny Pettis at UFC 185, in March 2015.

After a spell at welterweight (up to 77kg), where he competed for the interim belt in 2018, he returned to his home category, defeating Paul felder by points, in November 2020. The positive result against the North American made the Niteroi native return to the elite of the group. Today, the Brazilian occupies seventh place in the ranking.
