Mayweather thus maintains his unbeaten record in his career. He has a record of 39 wins, 25 of which were by knockout. Hatton was defeated for the first time in 44 fights. “I knew it would be difficult,” said the champion.
Hatton started the fight better, but Mayweather managed to recover from the third round. In the tenth round, the American sent his rival to the canvas with a left hook.
The Brit got up, but then received a series of left and right blows, falling again. This time, the referee ended the fight by pointing out a knockout in favor of Mayweather.
The fight was surrounded by great expectations. Thousands of British fans came to Las Vegas to support Hatton.
