After securing the contract with Ultimate no 'Contender Series', in November 2020, Glorinha de Paula prepares to make his debut in UFC Las Vegas 21, which takes place this Saturday (13). On the preliminary card of the event, the Brazilian faces the North American and former Invicta FC champion in the strawweight division (up to 52,1kg), Jinh Yu Frey.

In an exclusive interview to SUPER FIGHTS, Glorinha reveals that she is ready to take the first step, she hopes to begin her journey in Ultimate by knocking out her opponent and says she is calm for the fight.
“I'm very calm! I can control my anxiety well and I train a lot. So, I believe in the work that has been done with my team. I've been working hard on this for a while. I've lived this moment in my head several times. Now it’s time to get in there (in the octagon) and put everything into practice. (…), I didn’t focus so much on watching her fights. I saw some things and I believe my game is stronger than hers in all areas. But I'm going in looking for the knockout, which is what I like”, said Glorinha.
At 25 years old, the Brazilian reveals that she has been sharpening her stand-up game to dethrone Yu Frey and is already doing an 'imagination exercise' on how she wants to win the fight.
“I'm very confident in the high kick. I see the fight ending with a knockout and I hope to do 'Fight of the Night' or 'Performance of the Night' to have my name remembered”, declared the Brazilian.
TO GET CLOSER TO THE TOP 15
Pointed out as one of the biggest Brazilian promises in the division, the formerContender Series could get closer to the Top 15, in case of victory. However, she states that she prefers not to create expectations and considers taking 'one step at a time' in the organization.
“I’m not going to create expectations, as I like to take things one step at a time. I'm focused on the fight and whatever comes next will be profit. I don't want to expect something big and I prefer to be surprised. It’s better than being sad later,” she said.
PRESSURED OPPONENT
The opponent of Glorinha de Paula, Jinh Yu Frey, arrives under pressure for the fight with two defeats in a row and has yet to win the event. The Brazilian points out the 'good and bad' sides of the North American and says she is focused so that she is not surprised.
“I think she comes for 'all or nothing'. This can make her grow a lot in the game, or it can leave her lost. I am extremely focused on my game and I hope she brings her best version to put on a show,” she revealed.
EVOLUTION
Contacted by Ultimate after beating Pauline Macias in a unanimous decision by the judges in a fight valid for the 4th season of 'Contender Series', the Brazilian also highlights one in her game for her debut, despite a difference of just four months since her last fight.
“After I won the 'Contender Series,' Mayra Sheetara He told me: 'Now that you're a UFC athlete, you'll feel a change in yourself.' And I didn't believe it. But I really evolved in a big way. I can't say exactly what happens, but it's incredible. I’m at my best and ready to put on a show on Saturday,” she added.

Despite having his first fight in Ultimate, Glorinha de Paula is considered one of the great Brazilian names for the future. Currently, she has a record of five wins and two losses in her career.
