Jon Jones says he is in no rush, but guarantees he will become UFC heavyweight champion

Former light heavyweight leader exudes confidence in the new category and says he is not impatient to win the belt

MMA legend, Jon Jones continues his preparation to make his heavyweight debut (up to 120kg). Seeking to make even more history in MMA, the fighter said he was in no rush, but assured that he will be champion in the new division. The North American took the opportunity to 'poke' Ultimate, accusing the company of a lack of recognition. The statement was made in his 'Twitter'.

“The current champion (heavyweight, Stipe Miocic) is 38 years old, I am only 33. Mark my words. I will have that belt. There is no rush. I'm going to keep shaping my body, I'm going to focus on doing all the right things outside of the octagon and, hopefully, one day the company will value me more,” he declared.Bones'.

Considered by many to be the best fighter of all time, Jones dominated the light heavyweight division for around 10 years. With an established hegemony, the North American announced the migration to the heavyweight division in August 2020.

There is still no official date for when 'Bones' will debut in the new group. Ultimate's president, Dana White, however, has already made it public that Jon's first appearance in the group will be for the title, facing the winner of Stipe Miocic e Francis Ngannou, which exchange forces in the UFC 260.
