The rivalry between Israel adesanya e Paulo borrachinha it seems to have no end. The middleweight champion (up to 83.9 kg.), who after losing the chance to win the light heavyweight belt (up to 93 kg), provoked the Brazilian, mocking his rival's response to the setback in the duel between them, UFC 253, quickly received the miner's response.

Through his Instagam account, Borrachinha, holding a glass of wine, asked if Adesanya was also drunk after the Nigerian lost for the first time in MMA, after the fight against Poland's Jan Błachowicz.
“Skinny, were you drunk too? I respect your white belt”, provoked the Minas Gerais native, referring to the Nigerian’s inactivity in the ground fight in the UFC 259 (see post below).
Before the UFC 259, Borrachinha had already posted on Instagram with a glass of wine and joked about 'drinking before fighting'.
“Today there is UFC. Jokes aside, if you're going to drive, don't drink, and if you're going to fight, don't either. Only in cases of emergency,” she declared.
Understand the case
After months of provocation from both sides, Adesanya and Borrachinha faced each other in UFC 253, in September 2020. At the time, the Nigerian dominated the dispute and won by knockout in the second round and even provoked Paulo with a punch on the back of the knocked-out rival. After months of silence, the Brazilian surprised and revealed have fought 'half drunk'.
Borrachinha claimed he couldn't sleep before the fight and drank a bottle of wine a few hours before stepping into the Octagon.
No UFC 259, after suffering his first defeat as a professional, Adesanya mocked his rival's allegations and said he lacked some wine to help him sleep before his fight against Błachowicz (see the video subtitled with Adesanya's statement below).
