Cormier questions Jones' knockout power as heavyweight: 'He doesn't hit hard enough'

Current UFC commentator stated that his former rival will not have power against potential opponents in his new division

Four years after they last faced each other, Jon Jones e Daniel Cormier they began to publicly provoke each other again. The intense rivalry fought inside and outside the Octagon was reignited this week. In your podcast , 'DC' questioned 'Bones' in heavyweight (up to 120kg), a category in which the veteran will make his debut later this year.

"Jon Jones It's not going to knock anyone out. He doesn't hit hard enough. If he couldn't knock out these guys at light heavyweight, then he won't knock out these heavyweights”, said the former champion of the 120kg division.

Upon learning of Cormier's statements, Jon responded through his social networks. The North American posted a video on his TWitter remembering the last duel between the two, in 2017. On that occasion, the then owner of the belt knocked out the wrestler with a high kick. The triumph was soon reversed to 'No Contest' (no result), as the controversial fighter tested positive in an anti-doping test.

“I hope you enjoy this quick little edit I made for you, Daniel Cormier,” replied Jones.

The former light heavyweight champion's debut in the new category still has no date or opponent defined. But Dana White, president of the UFC, guaranteed that he will face the winner of the duel between Stipe Miocic e Francis Ngannou scheduled for March 26th, at UFC 260.
