Five months after announcing his retirement from MMA, Khabib Nurmagomedov appears to be satisfied with his decision. Despite still holding the UFC lightweight (up to 70,3 kg) belt, the Russian states that, despite President Dana White's attempts, he is not thinking about fighting again and says he is ready for 'new adventures' in his life .

“Every day I woke up and started training. By the time evening arrived, my body was exhausted. I reached the limit. I just want to live a life where I can sleep at least a little before lunchtime, live for myself and not have to dedicate myself 100% to sports. I would like to live the normal life of an ordinary person. But now I have a belt as a result of the fights I won. I knew fame would come, but I didn't know it would be so difficult. I would like to go back to the calm I felt before I became famous”, said Khabib in an interview with 'Esquire Middle East'.

The Russian also appointed a 'replacement' in the lightweight division (up to 70,3kg). According to him, there is room for his compatriot and training partner, Islam makhachev, take the lead in the division. And his compatriot will have the opportunity to validate Khabib's enthusiasm this Saturday (6), when he faces Drew dober, UFC 259.

“Now that I’m no longer training, I have people close to me – brothers and friends – who are fighting at the highest level. Everyone talks about Dustin (Poirier), Conor (McGregor), (Michael) Chandler, Justin (Gaethje), (Charles) Oliveira, but by the end of the year, that will change. I don't think anyone can beat (Makhachev) now. He will command (the division)”, concluded the Russian.
