Paulo borrachinha want to knock out Robert whittaker to be able to recover and return to compete for the UFC middleweight belt (up to 83,9kg). For the Brazilian, the best way to defeat the New Zealander is by knocking him out in the first rounds. Furthermore, he says he does not want to lead a 'war' inside the octagon.

“I'm a very confident guy and I think every fighter should be like that. If he doesn't have confidence, he starts at a disadvantage. My expectation for the fight is to knockout, submit and get the performance bonus. You will see an aggressive Borrachinha, as always – apart from the fight against Adesanya, where there were several factors that prevented me from fighting well –, it will be the same Paulo as always. The Brazilian also analyzed the technical fit for the fight and made a point of praising Robert whittaker. According to him, the New Zealander is a more complete competitor than the current champion of the category, Israel adesanya.
“He is a great athlete. He has many qualities, he is a warrior and tough. I hope to knock him out without starting a war. Because he fights a war and I hope I don't have to do that, because he fights five-round wars. I hope I don't have to fight a war so I don't get hurt and fight faster after this one. I want to be very precise to knock out in less fight time. Adesanya is more one-dimensional, different from Whittaker. In the fight between the two, I bet on Whittaker, as I think he is more complete. I don’t know if it’s more difficult, but he’s more complete than Adesanya”, analyzed the Brazilian.
