If he wins this Saturday, Pedro Munhoz wants to face TJ Dillashaw: 'It would be an honor'

The Brazilian, who faces Jimmie Rivera at UFC Las Vegas 20, also highlighted his evolution as a fighter and says he is prepared to show his best version in Ultimate

the focus of Peter Munhoz, at this moment, is really in the revenge against Jimmie rivera in combat that takes place this Saturday (27), in UFC Las Vegas 20. The Brazilian, however, is already making plans for the future and involves the name of the former bantamweight champion (61,2kg.) TJ Dillashaw as one of the possibilities in the future. The announcement was made following a question from SUPER FIGHTS at the pre-event press conference.

“I believe that an impressive victory against Jimmie Riveira puts me close to the top 5. And (I wish) to continue doing my job, showing my best version and bringing lively fights to the general public. (…) Depending on all plans happening the way we hope, a fight against TJ Dillashaw It would be an honor for me. He's a former champion, a very tough guy, very technical on the feet. So I think it would be a very attractive fight for the public and the organization,” he said. Peter Munhoz.

The first meeting between Munhoz and Rivera took place at UFC Sao Paulo, in November 2015. On that occasion, Rivera defeated Munhoz by split decision. Now, the Brazilian reveals that he has evolved as a fighter and feels complete for the rematch.

"Many things have changed. I believe I have evolved a lot technically and emotionally as a fighter. For five years now, we have fought against the best fighters in the division. (…), I have a lot of experience, I fought against former champions – just like him, so I believe we will bring a lot of new things to this confrontation”, said the Brazilian.

At 34 years old, Peter Munhoz has a record of 18 wins and five losses. The Brazilian arrives on a negative streak of two setbacks. In his last commitment, he was defeated by the former lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg.), Frankie Edgar in the judges' split decision, in August 2020, in the UFC Las Vegas 7.
