With irony, Henry Cejudo refutes Dominick Cruz's statement about his importance in bantamweight

'Triplo C' returns provocation to former champion, who questioned his compatriot's demands to leave retirement

Retired almost a year ago, Henry Cejudo the recent one didn't come cheap Dominick Cruz's statement about his importance in the UFC bantamweight (up to 61,2kg). Upon learning of the former champion's comment, which questioned the 'Triple C' demands to return to fight, the North American spoke out. In an interview with 'ESPN', Cejudo mocked his latest victim.

“This comment reeks of alcohol and cigarettes. Are you still waking up from the nap I gave you? Have fun in the preliminaries, Dominick,” declared Henry.

Interestingly, Cruz was the last man to share the octagon with Cejudo. In May 2020, the North American replaced José Aldo and tried to regain his old belt against 'Triple C'.

The confrontation, however, ended tragically for Dominick. In the second round, the former champion ended up surprised by his rival and suffered the first knockout of his career.

Another irony made by Cejudo was the fact that Cruz was one of the representatives of the preliminary card of the UFC 259. One of the biggest names in bantamweight history, the American is commonly scheduled for the main cards.
