The defeat for Michael chandler No. UFC 257, in January of that year, was just one of the battles that Dan Hooker had to face this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which is still occurring around the world. A month after the setback suffered in Abu Dhabi (UAE), the 31-year-old athlete finally managed to land in his home country, New Zealand.

As it is one of the strictest countries in controlling the spread of the new coronavirus, anyone returning from abroad must undergo a period of quarantine. Hooker then had to spend a month isolated in a hotel room in Abu Dhabi.

After the required time passed, the UFC lightweight (up to 70,3kg) was able to travel to New Zealand. In his country, the fighter will have to stay alone for another two weeks, also in a hotel.

In addition to remaining isolated, Hooker will be observed by guards, who will prevent any possible breach of requirements. The good news for Dan is that the 14 days away may not be necessary. If the test taken upon disembarkation is negative, the fighter will be free to go home and see his family.
