PFL announces return to activities in April with a duel between Anthony Pettis and Clay Collard

After a year of inactivity, the Professional Fighters League (PFL) announced its return to activities on April 23rd. The card, which is already valid for the regular lightweight season (up to 70,3kg), features a confrontation between former Ultimate fighters, Anthony Pettis and Clay Collad in the main attraction. Furthermore, in the co-main fight, the Brazilian and current two-time division champion Natan schulte faces Marcin Held. The winner of the tournament takes home the prize of US$1 million (about R$5.5 million) at the end of the year.

At 34, Anthony Pettis makes his debut in the PFL, after not renewing his contract with Ultimate and leaving the organization after 11 years since his first fight. Former UFC champion, the showtime He has a record of 24 wins and ten losses in his career. His last fight took place in December 2020, in the triumph against alex morono in the unanimous decision of the judges.

Clay Collard, 27, is also a former Ultimate competitor. In the company, he had four fights and only managed to win one. In retrospect, there are 18 positive results, eight negative results and one fight without result. The American, who hasn't fought since 2019, recently turned his attention to boxing. In the noble art, he has a record of nine triumphs, three setbacks and three draws.

BRAZILIANS IN THE DISPUTE

One of the big names in the PFL, Natan schulte is also confirmed on the card and is trying to win the organization's third championship. He won the 2018 and 2019 seasons, but now faces a new challenge when facing former UFC and Bellator, Marcin Held. The Brazilian has a record of 20 wins, three defeats and one draw, while the Pole has a record of 26 triumphs and seven setbacks.

The card also features the debuts of Brazilians Joilton Peregrino and Sheymon Moraes, who face Olivier Aubin-Mercier and Brendan Loughnanerespectively.
