Without an agreement with Singapore, UFC 261 must be held in Las Vegas, says website

Singapore is out of plans to host the UFC 261, confirmed for April 24th. According to 'Combate', Ultimate has not made any progress in negotiations with the country's government and the show must be promoted in Las Vegas (USA). The initial idea was to use the image of the straw champion (up to 52,1kg.), Weili Zhang, as a way to attract viewers.

Even though the show takes place on North American soil, Zhang remains tipped to be one of the show's protagonists. Although the category leader has not signed any contract for her next title defense, there are two possibilities for the Chinese.

Coming from victory over Joanna Jedrzejczyk, in one of the best fights in the history of women's MMA, the Chinese has not performed since March 2020. The expectation is that the champion will exchange forces against the former leader of the category, Rose namajunas, who won Jessica Stacker on your last appointment.

If Namajunas is unavailable, Ultimate has a plan b. The veteran Carla esparza could be the replacement to try to end Zhang's reign.
