“I'm not old, so I'm not in a hurry. I'll get there eventually. Honestly, I don't even think it's guaranteed that Jon (Jones) will take the fight (against the winner of Stipe Miocic e Francis Ngannou). I heard he's also keeping an eye on Izzy's fight (Israel adesanya) and (Jan) Blachowicz (UFC 260). If he's keeping an eye on it, he's not fully involved in a heavyweight fight. So, it's not guaranteed. I’m not worried,” said the athlete.

In a great phase of his career, coming off four consecutive victories, Blaydes, 29 years old, does not hide the confidence resulting from his good form. The athlete, therefore, believes that, if he is left out in a possible superfight between 'Bones' and the winner of 'Miocic x Ngannou', it will be important to stay active to earn as much money as possible with the purses from other fights.

“In the worst case scenario, I always knew. If I have to clean the category, I will do it. I have a family to support at home. So the more active I stay, the better off they are. The objective remains the belt, but we will get there”, he concluded.

Curtis has not performed since June 2020, when he overcame Alexander Volkov. Before the clash, the North American beat names like junior gypsy, Shamil Abdurakhimov and Justin Willis. His last defeat came in November 2018, when he was overcome by Francis Ngannou.
